Last night AIA + Clemson Architecture Center in Charleston sponsored a great lecture by John Patkau at the Visitor Center! Patkau Architects is based in Vancouver, Canada. He and his wife started the firm over 30 years ago. Several Liollio folks enjoyed a fun dinner at 39 Rue De Jean following the lecture.

The AIA South Carolina Design Awards Program was established to recognize projects that exemplify the very best in architecture in our state. By highlighting these projects in this way, the value of architectural design is elevated and promoted throughout the state. The 2015 AIA South Carolina Design Awards was held in Greenville last Friday and Liollio walked away with two honors.
Charleston Progressive Academy was awarded a Renovation/Adaptive Re-Use Merit Award.

On Thursday, March 26, 2015, Dinos Liollio attended the Chamber’s Leadership Briefing at Hall’s Chop House. Mayor Joseph P. Riley presented a variety of priority projects, focusing on the proposed African-American Museum being design by the Harry Cobb, Pei, Cobb, Freed & Partners Architects of New York City. His passion and commitment was infusing and his presentation of the design insightful.
Dinos and Cherie Liollio attended the Charleston City Council meeting March 24, 2015, at which time Council approved the contract with Liollio Architecture to proceed with the design of the new $8-$10 million new Senior Center to be located West of the Ashley near Roper-St. Francis Hospital. Today Michael, Seth, Jennifer and Elissa attended the SMPS / AIA / USGBC join lunch tour of the Clemson Wind Turbine Testing Facility. It is unusual that a shrimp boat passes by our office, but today it happened! This naturally led to Andy referencing the shrimp scene from the movie Forrest Gump: every way you can prepare shrimp!

David and Elissa attended the AIA Building Tour last night of the Cigar Factory on East Bay Street. Click here to check out the official teaser video.
